Mentor/Mentee Discussions
Set goals for the first classroom observation tied to the goal(s) for the school year
Review how to submit helpdesk technology tickets and maintenance tickets
Review IEPs, 504 Plans, FERPA, SPED, ELs
Review working with district support staff and facilitating support staff (para-educators) who work in the mentee’s classroom
Review lesson plan creation and implementation
Review methods/policies/procedures for keeping grades up to date
Review parent-teacher conferences and ongoing parent communication
Discuss student diversity and school culture
Discuss creating and sustaining a welcoming classroom environment
Review FastBridge testing and other standardized testing for the school year
Review time management strategies
Discuss maximizing instructional time
Discuss digital tools for enhancing instruction
District Mentee Meetings
Discuss collaborating with other adults (peers, paras, etc.)
Discuss the different roles of IEP participants
Discuss IEP Progress Reports
Discuss individual behavior management strategies (specifically including Active Supervision and Embracing Structure FLEX Resources)
Tie discussions to the district’s KESA goals about relationships and relevance
Building-Level Meetings
Discuss walk-throughs and data being collected
