Wilson Principal Anita Scheve wins Principal of Year Award

Wilson Elementary School Principal Anita Scheve was presented with the Kansas Principals Association Area 4 Principal of the Year Award at Wilson Monday morning.

Wilson, 48, has been the principal at Wilson for five years. She has been an educator for 26 years, 24 of those have been with USD 489.

The area award qualifies Wilson for consideration of the association's state Principal of the Year Award.

"They totally surprised me yesterday," she said. "It is easy when I have the staff that I have and students that I have. I'm not used to being in the spotlight. I am grateful everyday for what I get to do."
